Bait Intel
Mackeral continue to be thich amongst the south show from Scituate down to the east end of the canal. They did spread out and were more spotty this past weekend before the steady NE blow. Expect them to be push in tight on the inshore ledges.
Inshore Intel
Variety is the name of the game right now.
On the south shore Flounder are in full swing in the harbors specifically Green Harbor and Scituate. Also Plymouth / Duxbury bay off Saquish fish well on the tail end of the tides.
Stripers are thick in north river iholding 28 - 34 inch fish with some larger specimen caught off the mouth. Plymouth and Duxbury bay has yeilded some nice 40inch fish this past week.
Canal fishing is off and on as mackeral are swept in and out of both entrances. Guys are doing well with top water and mackeral jigs. Unsubtantiated rumors of a 54lb bass caught in Buzzards bay by boat this week. The larger fish are definatly making there way into MA waters right now. Seabass and Porgy fishing in buzzards bay continues to be strong with Tautag mixed in.
Offshore Intel
Haddock fishing is still going strong on Stellwagen boats making quick limits as the fish are feeding on whiting. The fishing on the SW Corner has picked up as opposed to earlier this season making a shorter run for the south shore fleet. As the temps warm expect the fish to migrate into the deeper waters to the east of the bank shortly. Water temperates are up to 58degress in most locations.
The tuna season has opened but not alot of chatter on fish around.
