Intel

Two big developements over the past few days..... on the inshore scene the canal has been lit up with 20-30lb class fish with a few 40's mixed in.  The fish are feeding on mackeral schools that are moving in to feed on herring fry dumping out of the runs.  On the offshore scene tuna have arrived in numbers and a number of giants are being caught east of chatham up to the south east corner of Stellwagen.  We had a currents network member loose a estimated 700lb fish after a 3 hour fight on saturday at the boat due to a chaffed light leader.

Bait Intel

Plenty of mackeral up on stellwagen south to race point and peaked hill.  Inshore pogies schools are still thick but have moved north a little and were stacked up between high pines and green harbor over the past few days.  Recent developement is that there is now bass chasing them some of these 30lb class fish firing thorugh the canal are sitting underneath the schools waiting for a free meal.

Inshore Intel

The canal continues to be lit up this past week with 20 - 40lb class fish being caught  majic swimmers and savage sand eels and live mackeral. These large bass are being caught up to the North Shore on the drag and drop method snagging pogys and letting them drop. The striper bite off Block Island right now is off the charts with large fish being caught with frequency including a 65 lber this week.  Stripers on the east side of cape cod bay remain on the small side with boats having a hard time coming up with a 34" fish.

Offshore Intel

Tuna moved into Cox's ledge a few days ago feeeding on school of squid.  The activity has picked up on the south side of the vinyard from Cox's east to Chatham.  Been a few fish caught off the sword.  Water temp and bait are more condusive to BF then in cape cod bay right now.

The Haddock bite on the east side of Stellwagen is still on fire with less pressure on the bite as boats have moved onto other species.  We did a trip on Friday and had a limit of 30 fish by 10am.  Areas to target are the barge and rockpile as haddock are in the 200 to 250 ft range.  We went east to see if any activity but there were little to no life in the 300ft + water out east towards the edge.

Canyon bite remains very strong with large numbers of Yellowfin and Bigeye and Marlin in both Atlantis and Veatch.
